Created styles classes not available to be selected

I'm very new to Flare and think I'm probably missing something very obvious here.

I've got a TOC associated with a Target that has the Master Stylesheet set to my new stylesheet. In my stylesheet I've created a new class for the h2 heading style - h2.Notices. But this style is not available to be selected in the 'Available Styles' window when I go back to edit a topic. Why is this? And how do I make it available?

On a more general level, how does Flare determine which styles are available for a particular topic? From tracing the Topic -> TOC -> Target -> Associated Stylesheet path?

Solved my own problem - the stylesheet was set at the topic level from the word import. Removed this and updated stylesheet of project and all available now.
