Page number to left in PDF TOC?

Post by SusanL »

Has anyone built a TOC for PDFs in Flare where the page number is on the left and the description is on the right? Our corporate UX team would like to see the page number on the left rather than on the right in TOCs for documentation. Is there a way to do this using the CSS? I tried using the left position on mc-leader-align, but that just moves the page number a little left, but still on the right side of the page after the leader.

Before I go back to UX and tell them this can't be done using Flare, I wanted to make sure that I'm correct.

Also, I question the usability of the pages to the left of TOCs for guides/reference materials, since people read left to right for information first and pages second, not the other way around. I don't produce glossy tradeshow material, and Flare is not InDesign.
