CSS Variables don't work in IE

When I apply color formatting as variables in my CSS, the output displays perfectly in Chrome but the variables don't apply at all in IE.

Does anyone know if variables are incompatible with IE. And, if so, if there's a workaround?

Per Flare's documentation, no, but MadCap offers guidance on how to resolve CSS variables for Internet Explorer in https://help.madcapsoftware.com/flare20 ... iables.htm.
