border-bottom-align: What does this do?

I have scoured the Interwebs, but can find no CSS info on the settings "border-bottom-align", "border-top-align", "border-left-align", or "border-right-align". Also tried dinkering with it in CodePen. What are these settings? What do they "align" what with?

Given I could only find that one reference, it might be worth contacting MadCap support to see if you can get more information.
