Can a different template be added to existing topic?

I imagine no, because a template is something you add when you create a topic. It gives you a starting point for adding your content - it doesn't really make sense to try and add a new template later after you've changed the original. Flare doesn't automatically know what to do with the new content you've added.

What are you trying to achieve exactly?
