Every heading starts a new page in PDF output

Post by Sharon Raanan »

Every heading - h1, h2 and h3 - all start new pages. How can I stop this?

Thanks,

Without knowing more about your project, it's hard to pinpoint what might cause it... Here's some things off the top of my head:
  • If your content is split into separate htm files split by heading, there could be page breaks in the FLTOC file. Check the properties on each TOC entry and in the Printed Output tab look for Chapter or Page breaks.
  • Your heading styles could include explicit page break instructions. Check for page-break-before, frame-break-before and column-break-before properties in your H1, H2 and H3 styles. Similarly you might want to set page-break-after, column-break-after and frame-break-after properties to "avoid" for your heading styles so that they stick to following content.
  • Does the pagination occur in the XML Editor as well as the output?
  • Do you have sufficient space in the body frame of your page layout to include more than one heading section? There could be issues with Flare trying to keep headings and following text together forcing new headings onto the next page.
Some starters anyway,

Rob
