PushOK, SVN and Flare 6

Post by Graham Campbell »

I've been using PuskOK successfully with Flare 5 (see my tutorial on installing it and getting it working here: http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewto ... 68&t=10401).

Installing Flare 6 has broken this and I now get the following two problems:

Flare complains without fault that my files cannot be accessed when I attempt to check them in.
Flare (or PushOK, I'm not sure which) reports an access violation when attempting to commit files. Specifically, an access violation on the file KERNEL32.dll in the System32 directory. Clearly not something I want to be messing around with too often!

Not at all sure what's going on here now, but since we've bought several copies of the PushOK plug in I'm keen to get it working with Flare 6 and continue to have in-editor version control. I'm going to keep investigating this myself, but if anyone wants to chip in with some SVN-specific suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Cheers.

This is the error message I get when I attempt to bind the project or check in a file.

I believe Tam Tam has an SVN plugin that you can use with Flare. If PushOK is the problem, maybe TamTam would work?

Just installed Tam Tam and wish I'd seen it first.

PushOK worked fine for us in Flare 5, but just doesn't at all in Flare 6. The Tam Tam eval demo was completely seamless :(

I managed to talk my boss into the purchase request for PushOK. I doubt I'll wrangle another one so soon.

We are trying to root out the reason for the PushOK plugin access violations.
We just haven't been able to replicate the issues here in house.

Those of you with issues. When you view the Advanced settings of the plug-in, there is a tab with "Known Lists".
Of those lists, are they "http:" "https:" or "svn:" or ?? and then the path to your server.

Thats interesting News from the tam tam plugin.

Rob,

All my lists under the Known Roots list type are svn: URLs.

Flare 6.1 seems to have sorted my problems, for the most part. I still get the occasional weird error message, but they're at least consistently weird as compared to previously.

Good work, MadCap.
