Preview fails with Flare 2017 and TFS

Post by NorthEast »

Our team currently can't use Flare 2017 because of a problem with the preview that seems related to TFS.

When I open any project that's bound to TFS and run a preview, I get an error like this - Failed to compile document. Access to the path '... File.css' is denied.
TFS access denied.png
Has anyone else seen this and found a solution?

The file always seems to be a CSS file, and when I check Flare's temporary folder I notice that this file (and others) are read-only.

So it seems that when Flare makes copies of these files for its temporary folder, it is keeping the read-only attribute from the original file (since it's bound to TFS).
It then seems to get this 'access denied' error because it can't overwrite the read-only file. (I've tried running Flare in Admin mode also.)

I've seen something similar with read-only PNG files being generated in the output folder, which will cause our publish to fail because Flare can't overwrite read-only files in the destination.

I'm in contact with support, but not having much progress.
