Senior Technical Writer

Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and talented Technical Writer to join our X_TRADER® Product Management team. TT’s flagship product X_TRADER®, is loaded with innovative features, supremely reliable and reflex-fast, and is the front-end screen of choice for professional derivatives traders around the world. Reporting to the Product Manager, the Technical Writer works with the Business Analysts to convert product requirements and software changes into accurate and user-friendly documentation, and has the final responsibility for delivering software documentation of the highest quality to TT’s customers.

Responsibilities:
•Develop clear, accurate, comprehensive documentation that communicates and explains application features and functionality.
• Interact with Business Analysts and Engineering to understand business requirements, product functions, and workflow processes, and distill the information into concise, effective summaries.
• Maintain a complex single-sourcing solution that delivers many outputs from one source.
• Develop standards for, and coordinate the layout and organization of documentation.
• Capture and create graphical images and diagrams for inclusion in documentation.
• Mentor less experienced writers, create style guides and manage multiple documentation projects.
• Assist with and ensure the accuracy of localized translated documentation.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the development of user manuals, on-line help systems, marketing and training materials.
• Evaluate document management and authoring tools for improvements on an ongoing basis.

Requirements:
• Ability to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into effective learning solutions.
• 5+ years experience as a technical writer developing technical documentation for software applications.
• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Technical Communications or equivalent.
• Excellent writing, spelling and grammar skills, with impeccable attention to detail.
• Proven ability to produce high quality, detailed and accurate software and system documentation.
• Experience managing and conditionalizing large amounts of text for the purpose of single-sourcing the content.
• Experience with authoring tools such as Madcap Flare and Adobe FrameMaker.
• Working knowledge of style sheets and markup languages such as HTML, CSS, XTML, and XML.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others as well as to complete tasks independently.
• Excellent understanding of technology, product / system / user interface design.
• Experience in the futures trading / financial services technology.
• Structured, organized, methodical thinker; with a persistent, creative, tenacious work ethic.
