Looking for someone with Flare exposure/experience for a small start-up software (SaaS) company.
Responsibilities:
• Work with Product Management and the Development team in R&D to produce documentation deliverables.
• Research and understand software systems, as well as technical procedures and effectively communicate this information to a non-technical audience.
• Create online help and pdf documents, and other technical documentation as needed.
• Develop standard documentation templates as needed.
Required Experience/Skills:
• 8+ years of technical writing experience documenting software or online systems.
• Ability to generate detailed process and procedure type documents from verbal and other informal discussions.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and writing styles.
• Excellent verbal communication skills. Writer must be willing and able to communicate effectively and efficiently with both the product strategy and development teams.
• Self starter who is able to work with minimal supervision but is also a team player.
• 4-year degree strongly preferred.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand and straight-forward user documentation.
• Strong familiarity with standard documentation tools: MS Word, FrameMaker, RoboHelp, and MadCap Flare.
• A passion for technology and for writing about it.
• An aptitude for working well under limited supervision in a fast-paced small-company environment with rapidly changing requirements.
• Ability to express complex technical concepts visually using diagrams and other graphical formats.
• Demonstrated interest in Environmental and Energy topics preferred.
• Experience managing crowd-sourced content a plus.
