This is a fantastic opportunity for an XD Writer/Documentation specialist to join an industry leading financial services company in South Florida. We are looking for someone with an energetic and entrepreneurial spirit who wants to flourish with the growth of the organization. We expect our XD Writers to be experts and mentors in user assistance trends, how our customers learn, and the voice we use to communicate with our customers in our offerings, marketing and support. This role will expose you to multi-language user documentation for our complex financial analysis applications that are deployed globally.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with user experience designers, developers and QA, participating in an Agile development cycle across multiple projects
• Write clear and engaging user interface text and help content for Web, desktop and/or mobile applications
• Help research, plan and implement a modular document management system that can create content for desktop, Web and Mobile platforms
• Create, plan, and maintain high-quality help system documentation for our suite of market analysis software
• Document new and existing software features in a clear and concise manner using industry standards
• Lead the content-design process, drive decisions, create schedules, track issues and oversee the content deployment process
• Unify the language across our product line
• Review QA reports and respond to requests for changes and enhancements to documentation
• Help create a TradeStation technical writing style and terminology guide
Requirements:
• Must possess and demonstrate impeccable writing, spelling and grammar skills
• Must foster the concept of language as a user interface element, with requisite research, analysis, testing and maintenance
• Must have experience documenting object-oriented programming languages, preferably Microsoft programming languages; knowledge of EasyLanguage is a major plus
• Must have experience documenting development environments, preferably Microsoft Visual studio or similiar
• Requires the ability to operate in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
• Must have strong organizational skills and ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously
• Requires superior knowledge of software help systems (Flare, RoboHelp, or equivalent)
• Requires superior knowledge of content management and document delivery systems
• Must have experience with document information architecture (e.g. DITA) and management systems (e.g. XML-based information architecture content management)
• Experience localizing software help systems is preferred (knowledge of Lingo is a major plus)
• Knowledge of financial markets, financial analysis software, or programming languages is a major plus
