Our exceptional team is looking for a new Sr. Tech Writer - with Madcap experience preferably.

Summary

The Senior Technical Writer supports corporate goals through the design and development of integrated documentation and training solutions for Quantum Scale-Out Storage and storage tier products in ways that enable Quantum customers to maximize their use of Quantum products in their business. For example, customers need to be able to set up and use the key product features.

Here’s a little bit about us:

We are a team of experts who thrive in a creative, collaborative environment.
We’re serious about our jobs as well as our diverse pastimes and support a work-life balance.
We keep the customer at the center of everything we do.
We believe in and strive for continuous improvement, and not getting stuck in how things have been done before.

What you will do:

Conduct an audience and task needs analysis for documentation.
Design experiences, not information, for our users.
Become an expert user of the products you document.
Create and deliver technical documentation, including media support, for Quantum products and related technology to Quantum's employees, service partners, and customers. Example deliverables include installation instructions, maintenance and troubleshooting tasks, online help, user tasks, and release notes.
Partner with instructional designers to develop overall training and documentation solutions. Some examples are located on our documentation portal. Newer product documentation includes the R3000 documentation center and the DXi4800 documentation center.
Apply single-sourcing methodologies to enable reuse of content between content topics and products, while making the user experience the #1 priority.
Develop strong working relationships with subject matter experts and cross functional team members.
Demonstrate initiative and self-direction in professional development targeted to meet current and future department needs.
Serve as a role model of professionalism by promoting teamwork, demonstrating characteristics such as a positive attitude and high energy, and establishing high standards of personal performance and ethical conduct.

Tools: Proven experience with tools such as FrameMaker, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Jira, Microsoft Office, and content management/source control tools such as Subversion and GitLab. Experience with Madcap Flare is a plus.

Concepts: Proven experience using CSS, HTML, single-sourcing, and online help/documentation outputs.
