Technical Writer (Salt Lake City, Utah)
Job Description
Attensity seeks an experienced technical writer for products incorporating the company’s multi-patented text extraction technology. This position will be based in Salt Lake City, Utah. In particular we are continuing development of our next generation application for analyzing and searching free-form or unstructured text.
You will:
- Develop expertise with Attensity products.
- Define documentation requirements for products; develop documentation project plans and timelines
- Research and gather information by installing and working with prototypes and applications, reading design and functional specifications, and conducting interviews with developers, QA engineers, and product managers.
- Develop documentation using Attensity templates and following Attensity guidelines.
- Test and revise existing documentation to improve content or describe product enhancements.
- Perform final production on documents, verify PDF output, convert to online help, and test the help.
- Work with reviewers to ensure technical accuracy and appropriateness of deliverables.
Requirements
- Three to five years experience in software technical documentation developing conceptual information, installation guides, administrative information, user guides and online help.
- Expertise creating single-sourced output for both online and printed documentation using a help authoring tool. (MadCap Flare preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to grasp technical concepts and communicate them clearly.
- Ability to work independently with general direction and guidance.
- Ability to meet aggressive deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Candidates will be asked to provide examples of technical documentation.
