Multiple authors accessing different projects

Post by dmarino55 »

We are new to using source control in Flare and are still trying to figure out a few things. We just upgraded to the most recent version of Flare 2017. We are using Git as our source control tool.

There are 3 writers on the team and we each store our help project files in a different repository (so 3 repositories, one for each of our products). What is the best way for us to share information with each other? We want to keep each help project in its own "silo" but we want access to edit or copy the other writer's help files when needed. Is there a way to access different repositories from within Flare? We had been doing this manually, in an external tool called Tortoise, but now we want to manage our repositories entirely within Flare without using other tools.

There might be an easy way to do this, but I haven't figure it out yet and thought I'd just ask before doing a bunch of research.

Thanks, Donna

Hi Donna,
Have you tried importing each others projects directly from Flare? From the File menu select New Project and scroll down to Import Project.
Any changes made will then be committed back to the source control server.
