CHM Freezes - Keywords, etc.

This forum is for all Flare issues related to the Microsoft HTML Help target.
This target produces "CHM" files in the output.

CHM Freezes - Keywords, etc.

Post by rmdavidson »

I was trying to fix my issue with the CHM mentioned in my post about the CHM loading the wrong topic (http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewto ... =8&t=14976). I put the CHM where the QA guy told me to and opened the software to see if it worked with changes to the alias and header files. When I click Help > Button Maintenance to go to that topic it loads a list of topics, of which I can only see about the first 5 and it won't scroll or anything. It freezes up to where I have to go into the Windows Task Manager and close it. I don't see the topic I want in the list. Is there a way to make sure Button Maintenance (that particular topic) comes out on top? I have title tags in all of my topics (there were none previously). Now, I have been adding the keyword Button Maintenance to all of the Button Function topics (135 or so) that live under Button Maintenance since finding out that the WebHelp runs off the index keywords (or else they won't come up in search) while the CHM/HTMLHelp searches the actual text. The functions load in a drop down in the Button Maintenance window and as a result don't have their own Help > FunctionName option to get help on them that way. Am I taking the wrong approach here? My thought was when they search for Button Maintenance they'll also see all the Button Functions that live under there so-to-speak. I'm doing them individually not, Button Maintenannce:ButtonFunction with levels. When I try to go to Help > Class Maintenance or Help > Employee Maintenance it loads those topics no problem. I'm guessing since Class Maintenance and Employee Maintenance aren't listed in every topic. I showed the QA guy the frozen window and he said, "Can't help you there." I'm assuming it is something with the CHM and not the software since the other topics open ok.

Ideas?

Thanks,

Robin
