updating imported chms

Post by uwem »

We are using links from one chm to a 2nd one. Both are located after installation in the same folder. The links are always from chm1 to chm2. Within a chm1 topic there can be on different texts different links to different topics in chm2 file.
The external chm2 file is once imported and is located in the content explorer in folder content -> resources -> chmsupport. So far OK and understood.
If we now compile and publish the chm1 file the, chm2 is published to the same destination, too. So far OK and understood. But if chm2 is recompiled, updated and published the LATER compilation of chm1 takes the imported (older) chm2 to publish in the same destination as chm1. Our way up to now is to recompile chm2 after compilation and publishing it for the same target.
We'd like to know if ther is there another more effective way to update the chm2 when compiling chm1 with the "baggaged" old chm2?
