[Solved] Script error caused by MadCap Toolbar.js

Post by klbmarsh »

When I generate a CHM, I get a Script Error that says, "Unable to get property 'getElementsByTagName' of undefined or null reference."
The URL is lists is /SkinSupport/MadCapToolbar.js.
I have gone through the skin over and over, trying different things and nothing works. How do I find what is "undefined or null"? What is it looking for?
You can see in the screen shot that the toolbar is there.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

MadCap Support responded to my email and provided the following fix, which worked:
1. Close Flare
2. Browse to the folder with your Flare project using Windows Explorer
3. Delete the Analyzer and Output folder (or move the Output folder to a different location if you do not want to lose any previously built outputs)
4. Browse into your Project folder and delete the "Users" folder inside
5. Re-open Flare and your project
6. Check to see if you are still experiencing the issue

Not sure what that had to do with the error, but it's working now.
That seems to be the fix for a lot of problems.
I will save this in my troubleshooting bag of tricks.
