HTML Help output name - how to change it?

This forum is for all Flare issues related to the Microsoft HTML Help target.
This target produces "CHM" files in the output.

HTML Help output name - how to change it?

Post by Dodo1 »

Hello,
yet another problem I have found, with which you will surely be able to help me.
When I build the html-output file (help file clarity.chm) and open it from our software, the tab on the taskbar, as well as the chm window header, bears the label "HTML Help", which I would like to change. Is this possible? I would say yes, but even searching in the project sourcecode doesn't show any valid result on "HTML Help" keyword. Where can I change this label?
Thanks in advance,
best regards,

Hi, Daniel,

See the Help topic called Specifying the Caption for the Output Window for instructions on how to set the title bar text.

If "HTML Help" continues to appear in the title bar even though you've set the required title in your Flare project, this could be caused by a mismatch between the language setting in your Help file and the language of your operating system. See this article for details:

Why does my CHM window show the title 'HTML Help' instead of my title?

For example, opening a German Help file on a machine running French Windows should cause "HTML Help" to appear in the title bar. But the title bar should contain the desired text if you open the same Help file in German Windows.

Thank you for your help, I have tried to change this parameter before, but didn't notice that the file is imported in out project, so it was overwritten with the field blank each time i tried to build. Now, it looks OK.
Thank you again,
