I was able to install and launch Pulse server to demonstrate to my supervisor and a few potential customers. The only thing is that the trial expired 6 days, not 30, after the installation.
You can see for yourselves here:
http://166.78.148.133/PulseBut during those 6 wonderful days, it proved to be a potentially welcome addition to my company's documentation.
The main concern I have is that my Flare documentation is hidden behind a login. I don't want users to have to create yet another login to interact with Pulse. I was hoping to be able to export the user list from our Oracle database and import it into Pulse, thereby syncing the login/passwords. Once they logged in to view the documentation, they would automatically be authenticated with Pulse. As it stands, they'd be Guest users, which is read-only.
In the Pulse Admin, there is a user import selection, but the documentation and UI are not very clear as to what file/format the import file type is. When you press "
Select file...", the filter defaults to
*.*; I was hoping to get a clue by seeing if the filter defaulted to a known data import file type, to no avail.
