Google Tag Manager and HTML5

Post by kvanderwiede »

Hi guys! I'm trying to use the google tag manager to track embedded youtube views in my HTML5 output.

I set up the tags, triggers, data layers, etc. in google tag manager. Then I added the script and noscript bits to both the Top Navigation masterpages in my topic.

but when i publish the HTML5 site, our google analytics account isn't picking up the youtube events in the events area. I can provide extra information if you all need. just let me know what I'm leaving out.

1. i used https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qo-7v8q-yIo that video to set up google tag manager.
2. i tried for 2 days to find a solution that will work but i can't figure it out! help! :)

i also generally have my videos added as objects instead of iframes (since the iframes don't show up correctly in the non-html view), but i changed them to iframes for this process and it still didn't work. anyone have any thoughts out there?

Thank you!
