Hide/Show Content throughout HTML

I am looking to create an HTML5 output that contains information for multiple products.
Is there a way to have a listing of products on the page and when I click on a product, it automatically removes/hides the content that is not applicable on the screen AND if possible, remembers the product that was clicked so that when they navigate the rest of the content (other topics), it continues to remove/hide the not applicable items?
