Custom skins or SPAs using xhr/AJAX

I know this is a long shot, but has anyone seen any custom skins (or single-page apps that sit on top of madcap content) that load only the topic content?

We use HTML SideNav, and the content load time is too slow, primarily because it reloads the whole page (top bar, table of contents) instead of only loading the topic content.
(Example: Salesforce's help https://help.salesforce.com/articleView ... htm&type=5. When you click a link in the left hand TOC, it just loads the topic content over xhr, rather than reloading the whole page).

I have already tried to reduce the load time via optimizing the scripts etc with help from Flare's support, it's not cutting it. I'm hoping I'm not the only one who's had this thought, I know there used to be a few coder-types working with Flare content.
