HTML5 - how to remove sidenav visible refresh "flicker"

Hi all,

I'm outputting HTML5 using a sidenav. When I select an option in the sidenav, it is very noticeable that the sidenav disappears and reappears when the topic is displayed. Is there a way to stop this happening and just have the right-hand pane refresh?

I don't have a solution, but bumping this, since we have the exact same issue. I'd love to find a solution.
