(Madcap Trial) Displays Characters Incorrectly

I'm using the trial version of Madcap Flare. I just created a sample project and topic, then generated the output. Madcap Flare substitutes letters/symbols with the wrong letters. See the attached screen shots. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi resume-writer and welcome to the forums.

What you see is normal behaviour for the trial version. Madcap adopted this approach so when you purchase a license you can still use the source files created with the trial version.

The only disadvantage is some links won't work - if a substitution occurs in the link it will not be valid (unless you put something at the new link, of course ).

Flare Scrambles the output in Trial Mode only, Once the software is purchased, you will be able to generate normal help.
