Icon in TOC

Post by jblackwood »

Is there a way I can have an icon from the HMTL Help Icon drop-down display in the TOC for my WebHelp target output? What I am specifically interested in is using the little video icon for TOC entries that are direct links to videos we are using.

Thanks!

This is how to change an icon - http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewto ... 74&#p30068 - but i don't think you can change the icon for only certain entries.

Thanks! I figured that may be the case, but you know it never hurts to ask. I'll see if anyone else may know of a way.

Actually you can create different TOC Icon, Under TOCENTRY Add Class, and assign this new icon for this class, And then in Your TOC Entry in the TOC file you can pick this new class.

Thanks Rick! Where can I find the image file for that little video icon that appears in the HTML Help Icon drop-down?

Here's one place, but you'll have to edit the file a little bit.

C:\Program Files\MadCap Software\MadCap Flare V4\Flare.app\Resources\Images\HtmlHelpIconImageList.bmp

That works. Does it matter where I save the new image file?

I forgot to stress that you CANNOT change that original file since it's from the MadCap sources! Make sure you save a copy of it somewhere else - probably in your Resources/Images folder in your project so it's an option when you try to find it for the skin.

Save the image anywhere you want to, Once you add it to the skin, it gets copied into the skin file itself.

So it will always be a part of the skin
