Internal error. File name or path name or both too long

Postby KBaine on Tue Oct 07, 2008 8:40 am

I have been getting an internal error today when I try to compile WebHelp. It says the file name or pathname are too long, and gives me a character limit.

I've never had this problem before. The project isn't at the root of my C:\, but it is only a couple folders down.

It worked fine yesterday, and now it doesn't work.

Thanks,

Did you accidentally change the target to generate the output back into the content folder instead of external to the content folder?

The pathname I am using is as follows.

\\thnsrv02\kbaine$\First Responder Application\ICSAA Help\Output The THNSRN02 is a server I work from, not on my C: drive. Maybe this is the problem. I thought I was putting it to my C: drive.

I changed the pathname to this and now it seems to work. Go figure.

\\thnsrv02\kbaine$\First Responder Application\ICSAA Help\Output

Sigh.
