Analytics by project only?

Replying to my own post. Having tried things out, I've seen how to set a different key per target in my project (the switching between Flare and Central is somewhat confusing...). So the question is moot :)

I'm just trialing Central and one of the appealing new features is Analytics.

However, I wondered how it might work if I had two (or more) published sites from the same project (for instance a publicly available version and an intranet-hosted version) and I only wished to track one or to track different sites separately. I might, for example, be more concerned about tracking the use excluding the in-house users. I can't see a way of achieving this from the one project.

I could create a new project for whichever I regarded as the "child" site and import the content from the original project, thereby giving me two projects to track. But that seems like a rather clumsy solution.

Has any one else come up against this in the short while the feature has been around?

Hi,
You don't need to have separate projects. The Keys are set within a target, not at the project level. So if you create one target for your external output, and another for your internal, each target can have its own tracking key. We have one project, and targets for US, UK and AUS versions, each with a separate key and therefore separate stats.

Yes, I finally worked it out. But many thanks for confirming this!
