Searching across multiple sites in Central

Hi all,

Rather than publishing a single project as a single site to Central - which means that any update would mean republishing the entire project - we have our documentation split up into multiple projects. Then we have a single front-end site on Central from where you drill down into the sub-site you want.

This means the default search when you are only on a sub-site only shows results for that sub-site. Which is actually what we want _but_ we would also like a "global search" which can search across _all_ sites for when a client is unsure which piece of software their search phrase is related to.

Has anyone implemented something similar in Central or know how one might go about it?
