Capture Resources
This is kind of an experiment. I've put together a few simple callouts for use in Capture. If you're an old hand at Capture, you've probably got your callout templates sorted, but I hope this resource might help new Capture users.
The callouts are set out in a normal Capture image (PNG), so you need to keep the .props file and the source file together. I did it this way so that anyone interested could just open the file in Capture and add individual callouts to their own palette as needed.
Numbers 01 (small)
Get the zipped file here: (v1.2: Changed the font to Arial and renamed the file)
Numbers 02 (big, same style as 01 above, no instructions included, see set 01 above)

Re: Capture Resources
On behalf of the community, thanks for sharing this, Tom!
Rather than having the files in Dropbox, you might also be able to put the .png and .props in a zip file and then attach the zip file to post (?). I'm guessing...

Re: Capture Resources
I'm unable to download it from Dropbox. The issue might be my company's workplace IT policies though.

Re: Capture Resources
Thanks Nita! I'm working on some more, will do a larger version of these first in case people prefer bigger callouts. Then some lines, arrows, bubbles, etc. Suggestions welcome! And zip attachments work fine, thanks, I didn't think of that
@ dorcutt - if the zip file doesn't work, send me a DM with a contact email and I'll put the files in the post.

Yeah, I think my company has disabled downloading from other people's dropbox accounts. Fortunately, the zip file method worked perfectly.
Thanks again for sharing; these look awesome! I'll definitely be using these.

Re: Capture Resources
Hi Tom,
Thanks a lot for creating these callouts.
But .... I have a problem and maybe you know if I do something wrong.
I created a new palette, ungrouped the callouts and then I added the callouts into the new palette for general use.
However, when I insert an image in Flare it is ok. But, when I added the callout and add the image Flare responds with 'Load failed'.
Do you have any idea what causes this?

Re: Capture Resources
Hi Wil - I'll take a look. You make a good point, I think I forgot to ungroup the callouts before posting. Will fix that, and let you know if have the same problem.

Re: Capture Resources
Yes , you are right.
By unzipping the file they are all grouped.
Great, I will see them

Re: Capture Resources
Hi Wil. Well, I couldn't replicate your problem... I tested both the numbered callout image sets in Flare 10 and 11, and didn't get an error. I'm afraid I couldn't say what is happening on your system. I wonder if anyone else gets this error? One thing I noticed was that the callouts were already ungrouped, so you should just be able to open the files in Capture and immediately add any callout you want to you palette (right-click > Add to Palette). When you open the callout image files in Capture, are all the callouts grouped? I wonder what is happening there?

Re: Capture Resources
Hi Tom,
I downloaded your zip-files again to be sure and unpacked them. Then within Capture I opened the file and put one of the callouts in My Palette.
The following image shows everything.

Re: Capture Resources
Hi Wil - one thought: it might be font related. Before adding a callout to your palette, could you try changing the font in the callout to the font that you want to use in your doc. The callouts are configured with Open Sans, which is freely available, but I appreciate that you might want to use another font. I wonder if the problem is related to the default font substitution. If you set a font manually from one that is available on your system... does that work?

Re: Capture Resources
That was the trick. I changed it to Arial. Now it works.
Somehow the Open Sans font from Google was not excepted (I checked it in my fonts directory and in MS Word and could just use it as normal).
I am curious if other MadCappers get the same conflict.
Thanks Tom!

Re: Capture Resources
New!
I've added the first set of Arrows.
Updated
I changed the font used in the Numbers files to Arial for better compatibility.
News
I can only upload 5 attachments, so I took the previews off (I will add new previews to these posts). I tried to upload a bundle zip of all three sets, but it just tipped over the upload limit, so I'll do that another way, probably Dropbox.
Feedback always welcome, requests always considered.
