Bulleted and Numbered lists not indenting properly

Post by jetboy2k »

I'm new to Doc-To-Help, and I'm running into an issue with my numbered and bulleted lists, specifically that list items that are more than one line on a web page do not indent properly. What I need is for the first character of every line to line up vertically so, for example, if the first line is indented .25" from the number or bullet, the next line is also indented .25" from the number or bullet. Instead, any additional lines indent approximately .01" closer to the bullet in bulleted lists, and indent at the same position as the number in numbered lists.

I've played around with formatting the paragraph in the list style, including the left indentation value and the Special set to all three options (none, first line indent set to various values, and hanging set to various values), but nothing works. The styles that are applied to these lists are paragraph styles, if that helps.

If anyone has any suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

creating styles in Word may not be necessary. I prefer to use D2H's built in list styles, e.g. c1h-bullet.
The problem is that D2H does not handle current Word's list features well when creating html output.

SKamprowski, thank you, that helps.

I don't see c1h-bullet in the drop-down styles list that I can apply in the Doc-To-Help ribbon. How can I find that style if it's not in the drop-down?

Give this a try:

In your D2H Word document, from the Home Tab, under Styles, click the expand arrow on the bottom right corner.
This should display all of your styles, D2H styles included. (C1H Bullet, C1H Bullet 2...etc.)

Hope this helps!
