Microsoft Edge has never displayed fonts in my Flare help systems correctly; it seems to always display Times New Roman. I have seen similar behavior on some but by no means all websites. (Dave Lee's Sage help at http://desktophelp.sage.co.uk/sage200/s ... t/Home.htm looks fine, for example.)
My setup: I develop and do Windows previews on a Mac, in a virtual machine running Windows 10. My help is hosted online, and I preview it using a local web server (web servers running on both Mac and Windows, browsers on both platforms as well). My help systems use web fonts, hosted on a company server.
I've noticed this problem from the first release of Windows 10 to today, with Flare 10 through 2016 r2.
I originally chalked it up to either something in the way my company's server was delivering the fonts, or something in Edge, or both. But I had some extra rime today so I created a fresh project using the "Top Navigation Basic2" template. Using just the template content, I still get a bad preview.
Here is the Edge preview:
Here is the same page in IE 11:
The CSS is very simple for this:
Code: Select all
body
{
color: #404040;
font-family: Arial, Avenir, Myriad;
line-height: 1.7em;
}
I tried local styles using styled <span>s:
Code: Select all
<body>
<h1>Welcome</h1>
<p>Here is some general <span style="font-family: 'Courier New';">text for a topic</span>. Replace this with <span style="font-family: 'Arial';">your own content</span>.</p>
</body>
I am at my wit's end (not a far stretch, but still...).
Does anyone else see this problem? Has anyone found a solution? And go ahead, if it is simple, tell me anyway; I like simple.
Thanks in advance (I hope!)
