Hello. I have only been using MadCap Flare for about a couple days. So far I am very impressed. I just have a couple issues that I hope to have answered here.
The printer icon only prints the current topic. I want to be able to print the entire document at once. How do I do that? Or failing that, combine the entire documemt into a PDF, open or save the PDF, and then print that.
Combine all topics into one?

Re: Combine all topics into one?
Hi,
I suggest to create a pdf with Flare. Then add a link to it in all topics, probably by inserting the link into a masterpage, and use this masterpage for your online-target.
Kind regards,
Sabine Kamprowski

Re: Combine all topics into one?
To expand on Sabine's reply, this is the procedure:
Create a TOC that contains all the topics you want to include in your doc.
Create a page layout (not a master page) that will be used in the final output.
Create a PDF target, referencing the TOC you created.
Build the target.
You can then print the whole thing, or at very least look at it onscreen. If you have included things like chapter numbers, page numbers, cross-references, they will all be created fully (whereas if you just print an individual topic from within Flare your cross-refs will just say "on page 1" because it doesn't know what the eventual page number will be).
Good luck.

Re: Combine all topics into one?
Please help me. I cannot seem to figure out what I'm missing. I have set a new Target with Output Type of "PDF". I have set the Master Stylesheet for that Target to styles.css. In the styles.css file, I have specified page-break-before: always; for all h1 elements. However, when I build the PDF, the Table of Contents ends 3/4ths of the way down the page and the Title of my first Topic appears for the rest of the page. So my page breaks are not working. Help!

In your TOC, right-click the first topic and on the menu click Properties.MrSnrub wrote:Please help me. I cannot seem to figure out what I'm missing. On the Printed Output tab in the Break Type list click Chapter Break.
Save the TOC and regenerate your target. That should fix the problem.

Re: Combine all topics into one?
The new Slideshow addition could be used for something like this. It's like having multiple topics in one file. Each page is an individual "card" element.
I really like this feature in Flare! Very nice.
