View Help while using application

Post by GeorgeBell »

Flare 2017 r2

We would like to be able to view Help as a reference while using the software application.

Currently our applications will certainly allow you to view both side by side on screen, but while Help is displayed, you can no longer do anything in the application itself.

However, with our Brother label software for example, we can be looking at the help topic AND editing our label design. It appears that Brother are using CHMs, so we assume there must either be, a setting in Flare we are missing, or a change required in the application software which calls up Help.

Can anyone help please?

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do in Flare to fix that. Your devs will have to look into the code and see how your program calls/processes the help file. I think it should be a fairly easy fix, but I can't say that with 100% certainty since I'm not a dev.

Unfortunately, there isn't anything you can do on the Flare side. Talk to your devs and see what they can do.

A word to use when talking to your devs might be "non-modal/modeless windows".
