Chapter / Paragraph numbering

Post by henkjans »

good day,
I can't make it possible that the chapter and paragraph numbering in .pdf target is incrementing.
Every Chapter (style h1) starts with 1 and every Paragraph (style h2) starts with 1.1

I tried the " {chapnum} {n+} " in the Auto-number property of style h1 but that doesn't work.

Anyone any idea?
Thanks,

Have you added a Chapter Break in the TOC for that output?

Hi Henk,

It's on the TOC entry's Property dialog:

Image

"Chapter/Page Layout Break"

There you can make chapter breaks and Page Layout Breaks as well as change the page layout from that point forward.

thx Trent
I'm a bit further now, but it's more try and error then knowledge :(
The setting "Page layout break" was already set (see pic).
Somehow I can't manage to see paragraph second level (1.1.x) in the pdf TOC
I'm editing the styles p.TOC1 - p.TOC3 but that doesn't solve the problem.
Problem and strange thing is that when I change the property Auto-number format to (let say) "CH:{n}.{n+}" I don't see it back in the grid of "View Simplyfied" of the style p.TOC.
I'm a bit done now ....

I've run into that myself. That is when I make the change in the internal text editor. I had a problem where I couldn't get rid of the numbering on a new class and a manual edit was the only way to get it accepted.
