Marginalia with Flare?

Post by autocart »

Hi all,

Can I publish my pdf with marginalia infos using Flare without add-ons?

Regards, S.

UPDATE: I meanwhile realized that the "marginalia" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marginalia) are also called "margin notes".
I found two threads here (viewtopic.php?f=6&t=19456#p101902 and viewtopic.php?f=10&t=19301) which I am in the middle of reading at the time of writing this, but if someone has a working solution, please don't hold back, thx very much!

Hi

Yes, I have designed a system using page layout, spans and float-left styling that allows for marginalia. You can see my current solution by clicking on the images below.

My technique is to use spans. One limitation with spans is that I can't apply emphasis to my margin notes. I haven't experimented to see whether divs could be used in place of spans. If it can be, then that may overcome the issue with in-margin emphasis.
