Formatting Chinese Index

Post by Rinali »

Hi. I'm new to Flare and migrating our Word docs over. Our output is print and we have an index in each user guide. The English one looks OK, but the Chinese one looks off as most entries are the only one for each heading (see image).

How do I change this? Ideally I'd just like a straight list with no headings to break up the entries.

Thanks.

Hi,
If you're using an Index proxy:
  • Right-click on it in the XML Editor and select Edit Index Proxy...
  • In the Index Proxy dialog, click on the Generate Headings option, specify No and click OK.
  • Then rebuild.
You should have an alphabetical list, without the headings.

Thanks again. I was wondering if you could help me with another issue!

I have two separate indexes appearing at the end of my print output. The second one is the intended proxy index which has the correct title. However, the first index has absolutely no heading but is otherwise a duplicate. I thought that Flare would turn off other index generation if the proxy index was used, but maybe I've misunderstood.
