Upload an Excel file automatically on MadCap Flare

Can anyone help me in uploading the Excel file on MadCap Flare automatically?

Pls, guide me if, by some other means, we can achieve it.

Hi Mj,

Have you looked at using the Excel imports option? You can configure this to Auto-reimport before 'Generate output' (in the options tab of the Excel Import Editor). Once defined, this will pull in changes to the specified excel sheet(s) each time you build.

If you then want to automate publishing the output, could you make use of a Batch target with a scheduled build?

I am using flare 2017r3, where I can find this Excel Import Editor?

I have to maintain the history, so, I can opt for uploading Excel also. And, the topic in flare will keep on appending with new uploads every time. Appending text will make it large very soon.

Yes, I have automated the publishing of output.

In the Project Organizer, right click the Imports folder, and choose Add MS Excel Import File...
