using Flare's built-in templates-locating & editing the TOC proxy

Post by Nina Esile »

I'm using one of Flare's built-in templates: Side Navigation and PDF Template.

I understand that the TOC is generated by the Frontmatter.flpgl file, but for the life of me, I can't find the TOC proxy. I'm sure I'm just missing something.

Thanks!

I think I may be answering my own question.

On the Advanced tab of the print-based target, there is a setting called 'Generate TOC Proxy'. The tooltip says: "With this option enabled, a TOC proxy will automatically be placed at the beginning of the output if it is not already present."

Gonna go play with that!

When that option is turned on, Flare automatically generates the print table of contents with no need for the table of contents proxy. If you want to modify that page, where it is positioned and so on you need to turn off that target setting, then create a new topic with a table of contents proxy and put it in your TOC.
