failed to set credentials: the parameter is incorrect

Post by jbadger_verity »

Good Morning,

I'm starting a new Flare project and want to Bind it to a Git repository. When I access Project > Project Properties and click on the Source Control tab and click Bind the Bind Project dialog pops up. I fill out my repository information selecting:

- Git
- Remote Repository
- Push on Bind
- paste the repository information from my git repository on GitHub
- add my name and email
- click OK

After a bit of churning, the credentials pop up displays and I fill in my user name and password and click OK. Flare churns for a very long time appearing to lock up and finally pops up the error message "Failed to set credentials : The parameter is incorrect"

The problem is that I know my credentials are correct. I have Git for Desktop installed and connect using the same credentials. I use the same credentials on GitHub.com and those work. So, what's the solution here.

I'd really prefer not to do source control outside of Flare. I'm not super familiar with Git as previous teams I've worked with were using TFS. My team has no experience using source control.

Anyone experience the same issue? Any ideas on the best path forward?
