including the % character in search results

Having a problem with search results. My boss was searching the help for the phrase "90%" because that's a percentage we claim/document about something in our product. No search results are showing up for that, with and without quotes.

Relevant parameters from my project:

• HTML5 target
  MadCap Search is the selected search engine
  I do NOT have ""Exclude non-words" checked in the advanced search options for the target.

How do I make this show up? (and make my boss happy?)

Just thought I'd follow up in case anyone was curious about this issue.

I created a support ticket for this issue. Here is the response:

This is an existing bug in our system. Regarding this issue, I have submitted a Bug Report on your behalf (#149209) to our development team and you will be notified via email if a fix for this is included in a future patch or release version.

Unfortunately, we can't provide any workaround for this issue except to change the Search Engine used in the output from MadCap Search.
