error when resolving links in output files for Clean XHTML

Flare terminates the build when I try to run a Clean XHTML target. I can't find a log file to debug the problem.
The only clue is the message just before the build terminates, which is "resolving links in output files..."
I have done the usual things: Deleted the Analysis folder, repaired the Flare installation, and tried a different project. I still get the same error.
Anyone see this before?
