Cell Content Style only on the first column

Post by Psider »

Hi all,

Is there a way to define a Cell Content Style only for the first column in a table?

That is, I want the p tag in the first column to be automatically assigned a style/class, but I want the second column to just have a plain p tag.

I've set up my table style, clicked Column1 and selected the class. Then I click on Column2 and check the Class field it's blank.

But when I apply the table style to a table, both columns get the style I selected for Column1. So it looks like the class is inherited.

Is there a way to prevent the inheritance, or reset Column2 to blank?

I'm using Flare 2024.

Okay, so I found the solution.

Somehow, I had set the cell content style as the default for all tables. I have no idea how, because I'd never seen the dialog box that let me change/reconfigure it.

The relevant place to change the default cell content style is Table > Cell Content Style, in the Table Cell Content Style dialog box, select the style you want to apply for all new tables, e.g. p, and tick the Set as default checkbox.

And here's the help topic - the Global Style Method.

(I think the default for a fresh install might be <p> set as default, but you could select (none) if you don't want to automatically get p tags in your tables.)

I have no idea how I set my testing style as the default, as I've never seen that dialog box before, but at least now I have it set correctly, and my table columns now get the correct styles. :)
