I am experiencing issues using the Update Link feature in Flare. For example: when renaming, removing or moving a file, Flare shows the Link Update window en will be "Computing dependency set" for at least 30 minutes.
I noticed that this problem occurs when the Project Analysis is running. So if I open 'Analysis > Summary', I see the Project Analysis checking all files. If the Project Analysis is done, updating links is a breeze.
The problem is: running the Project Analysis takes about 45 minutes and it will run automatically every single time I open my Flare project. This means that I can not work properly for about 45 minutes each day, as company policy is to close Flare at the end of the day. If I have to kill Flare because of errors and start it again, I have to wait 45 minutes before renaming, removing or moving a file AGAIN.
Is there a way to improve this process so that I can rename, remove or move a file without waiting SO long? I desperately need tips... I already tried removing the Analyzer folder from the project. This folder is also not bound to source control (only the folders Content and Project are bound to Git).
My project is 2,21 GB and contains 58.171 files.
PC specs: 2.00GHz, 32 GB RAM
Thanks in advance!
Updating links takes forever: Project Analysis?
Re: Updating links takes forever: Project Analysis?
In addition: in 'Options > Project Analysis' all 'Advanced Scan Options' are disabled and 'Search Limits' is set to 100.

Re: Updating links takes forever: Project Analysis?
Have you tried closing the Project Analysis window before closing Flare so that it won't get reopened automatically when you open Flare?
kind regards
Peter

Yes, we actually never opened Project Analysis before. I opened it for the first time to see if this could cause our Link Update problems.peter_ring wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 7:14 am Have you tried closing the Project Analysis window before closing Flare so that it won't get reopened automatically when you open Flare?
