Error "Access to the path is denied"

Post by doc_writer »

Hi everyone,

I'm fairly new to Flare and I’m running into a problem: whenever I try to preview or build a PDF, I get the following error:
"Access to the path '...Temporary\PDF\Preview\Images\Icons' is denied." Flare keeps referencing this temporary folder:
C:\Users\OneDrive – .... \Documents\My Projects\...\Temporary\PDF\Preview\Images\Icons

I think this started happening after I accidentally deleted the Icons folder from my Downloads folder last week.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
  1. Replaced the Icons folder in the Content Explorer under the Resources directory.
  2. Rewrote the styles that use the icon images.
  3. Checked for broken links.
  4. Deleted the contents of the temporary folder manually, but the folder just keeps reappearing under Temporary\PDF\Preview.
  5. I uninstalled and reinstalled Flare, but it didn’t fix the issue.
  6. Double-checked the permissions, and both the temporary folder and the project folder have full access for my user account.
  7. Checked for Windows updates.
Flare still keeps referencing the temporary folder, and I can’t generate or preview my PDF target because of the error.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

I would move the entire project out of your OneDrive folder.
Lots of people have had problems when keeping Flare projects in OneDrive (or Google Drive, etc.).

When you move the project, delete the Output/user/Temporary folder and Analyzer folder.

Hi, have you tried recreating the folder at the specified path and clearing Flare's cache?
