Hyperlinks Suddenly Changed to a Funky Color

Post by jbennett »

Today I was working in Flare and when I ran a preview output my hyperlinks (drop down text, expanding text) all have turned to a purple color. I looked in the style sheet but all setting seem to be correct for the associated tags.

I have a tag <hr> at the bottom of the master page that I changed colors on, and the the link colors seemed to change after that. But now even if I change the <hr> colors back or to another color, the link colors still stay the same.

I am sure I am missing something, but I don't know what. Thank you for any help!

Did you ever try clicking on these links? The default of a clicked link is usually a different color (like purple).

Flare uses your system's browse history to determine if a link has been visited or not. If it has been visited, the link appears using the visited colour from your CSS.

To return them to "normal" you can clear your Internet Explorer browser cache.
Until next time....

Hi jbennett,

Welcome to the forums!

Laura and Kevin are right - the links are using the visited pseudo class to change to purple.

You can delete your temporary internet files cache to return the links to blue, or if you don't want them to change to purple you can change the a:visited pseudo class colour to something else.

It's normal "web" behaviour :)
