Fitting Images into Tables for Printed Output

Post by TalanaRay »

I am creating a printed output by single sourcing with Flare and my printed output contains images inside a table. Is there any way to create a style that will force the image to stay within the constraints of the table? I've tried setting the IMG tag to a maximum width but that hasn't helped. I've also tried setting the TABLE style to a maximum width and the tables still expand past the page in the printed output. Do you have any ideas?

Thanks!

Did you set the width/height on the <img> tag in the print medium or in the default medium? Did you use inches or points instead of pixels when you specified the dimensions? And of course, did you apply the class to the <img> tag?

Oh, and don't set the <table> tag to a 100% width. Word doesn't treat it correctly. Instead, if you have to set the table width, set it to inches (in the print medium).

I've set both in the print medium to inches. I think I've figured out how to deal with the tables so they stay mostly on the page and I have minimal post editing to do, but the images still get too big. I'll keep messing around with it though to see if it works.

Setting the table width to 99% is an option too (with regard to the table width issue).
