OK .... I want to try this. Create a webhelp that consists of nothing more than a ToC that links to external documents like PDFs and MS Word. Clicking on the ToC entry in the browser should open the document in the respective application. Any suggestions?
thanks

WebHelp with PDF links
Re: WebHelp with PDF links
Just to add ...I managed to create ToC entries with file links without any problem, but what if I want to apply a MAP ID ...? I guess that means creating a topic and placing the file link in the topic itself. Would be nice if it could be done via the ToC entry.

I don't know about the Map ID, but I've seen and made projects that are just external links.

Re: WebHelp with PDF links
I simply create a folder in resources called documents. Place the pdfs in that folder via windows explorer. I then link to the actual pdf file. When you publish, they are placed within the help system.
If your documents are located elsewhere then just link to them.
