Nothing in Contents folder after .hhp import
I have a very large .hhp project that I am trying to import into Flare. The import runs for a long time. Many warnings are produced and, it seems, many errors too - but these are cut short with a message indicating that Flare has stopped recording errors for performance reasons. However, the output log seems to indicate that the project has been built. When I look though, the Content folder is empty. So, no import. I wonder if the .hhp file is set up incorrectly.
This is how it is set up:
- There are no actual files listed in the .hhp project - the files that you normally add using the add/remove topics files window.
- Instead, the toc.hhc and index.hhk files are already prepared - with links to the files.
- All of the many files are in folders where the .hhp project is.
I know I am probably not giving enough information here - but any clues?

Re: Nothing in Contents folder after .hhp import
I think the issue is because there are no files referenced in the project. I don't know exactly how Flare does the import, but I am quite sure that it will look exclusively at the .hhp file. I further guess that the errors come from processing the ToC and Index and not finding the topic referenced. Can you compile the help using HTML Help Workshop?

Yes it compiles using HTML Workshop.
I think you are right - is there anything I can do?

Re: Nothing in Contents folder after .hhp import
Bit of an oddball idea, but you could compile the project using HTML Workshop then decompile the CHM with Key Tools: it's possible that the decompiled version may be something that Flare can work with. (Worth a try at any rate.)
Until next time....

Re: Nothing in Contents folder after .hhp import
The decompile works rather nicely and very quickly for such a large amount of files - 3 minutes or so - but I don't get an .hhp file back - just toc and index. Is this as expected? Or am I doing something wrong?

Re: Nothing in Contents folder after .hhp import
I don't know, I've never done it before: it just seemed like a possible way around the problem. I'm a little surprised it didn't decompile everything, but I'm not a key tools expert so I can't say if that's normal or not.
Until next time....

Re: Nothing in Contents folder after .hhp import
Hi, Gary,
Pete
If you decompile with KeyTools (http://www.keyworks.net/keytools.htm), that will give you the option to rebuild the .hhp file. It's the only HTML Help decompiler to offer this facility.Gary Niemen wrote:The decompile works rather nicely and very quickly for such a large amount of files - 3 minutes or so - but I don't get an .hhp file back - just toc and index.
