New user not getting table borders in Word output

I created a Table Style and used it in a template. When viewed onscreen in the designer, it looks as it should. (This particular table has outside borders all around, but no interior borders.)

When I generate Word output the table has no borders at all. Is this perhaps a known issue? And is there a known workaround?
