Running a chm on a 64-bit OS

Post by JAHartman »

Hi,

The product I write Help files for is going to support 64-bit operating systems running on the server in the next release. Will the chm files open/function correctly on these operating systems? Is there anything special I need to do/consider on the development side to maintain functionality?

Thanks for any info/advice.

I can speak only from experience. My clients have had no problems running the .chms I produce with Flare on 64-bit machines. Perhaps you can simply run some tests? Produce some test .chms and see what they do on the 64-bit OSs.

No problems on XP 64bit (same as Server 2003 64bit) either. My assumption is that it is the same old crusty 32bit viewer application that gets used for the 64 bit systems.
